The New Studio

As many of you know Katie and I relocated in late October this year. We moved all of 800 metres to our new home. Our previous home had a wonderful garden that had a jungle tropical feel with bamboo and tree like parts. The down side was a small but practical studio space and a small office.

Our new home has the reverse little outdoor gardens but we now have a large and fully functional studio as well as office space. Considering we live in the Dandenongs and we have beautiful rain forest within a 5 minute drive we thought having the studio and office space was a better option.

We did our first shoot in the new studio about 2 weeks ago now with lovely Helen. She was extremely professional arriving on time and came filled with idea's and enthusiasm. Her Model Mayhem n# is 810343 and we'd recommend to any photographer. Some of the results are below.

The Wedding of Chris & Kylie

In early December Katie and I loaded the car and headed off for a 4hr drive. We where providing the Video and Photography for a location wedding along the Murry River in country Victoria. This was to be our final wedding for 2008 and what a way to finish a busy year of weddings. Chris & Kylie, the groom and bride where married on a warm and slightly windy December afternoon afternoon. At times localised storms threatened rain but local advise was it would pass. Guess what? Local knowledge was invaluable!

A small but special number of guests enjoyed spending the weekend at the resort. The pre-wedding preparation was not without some small, if not unusual stress. The groom relaxed and provided us on camera with some beautiful insights into how he met his bride, for later use in their video.

The bride looked beautiful as she walked down towards the river where the rest of the wedding party waited. She was given away by both her Mother and Father. The ceremony occasionally was disrupted by the roar of ski boats passing, however the Celebrate repeated the vows they had written so all the wedding party could hear.

After the ceremony we were able to get some lovely outdoor photographs and video.

Since the ceremony and reception was all at the resort it meant all guests could participate in the formal photos, though being a late afternoon ceremony we still had to move fast before the available light started to fade.

The after wedding party was great fun, held in an outdoor marquee. The food and drink flowed well into the night as family gave their speeches and the guests danced. Katie and I got up early Sunday morning and headed to a local hotel in Echuca for one of those all day big breakfasts before the drive home. Congratulations to Chris and Kylie.

Mums that Model

The Project – MTM

MTM stands for Mums that Can Model. We want to get a group of ladies (mums) that model and photograph them. The photographs will project mums that model in a positive and sexy way (not sexual). The images will be shot in the studio and or on location. They can be simplistic portraits or they can be set based (locational). The images will range from clothed to artistic nudes (up to the model). Styling can be anything thing from modern to pinup to fetish to plain. What we are after are mums that model. Age and experience is not important.

So what constitutes a mum that models? You could be a full time model or part time. You might do it for fun or be a promotional model. You may even want to get into modeling and have no experience what so ever. But if you enjoy being in front of the camera then and you’re a mum this is for you. If you know of any MTM’s then please pass the word around about the project. If you’re interested read on.

The project will be TFCD as Katie and I will self fund the project. Images for the MTM project will be not distributed until the final release but where are happy to shoot and provide you other images for your use as part of assisting us with this project. Model releases will need to be signed as the images may be used in a book but you can decide if you don’t want an image to be used. We don’t plan too or foresee these images being sold but if they do in the future or standard practice of a 50/50 share in any profits stands.
